
At last evening's Barren County Board of Education meeting, three of our retiring BCMS employees were honored for their service to the children of Barren County. Board Chairperson, Shelly Groce, presented a plague to Staci Maynard, Jean Ann Emerson, and Sheila Capps. After the ceremony, Principal Joey Bunch thanked them for their years of service to BCMS.

SBDM parent nominations for the 2025-26 school year have ended. Voting will take place on Friday, May 9th from 7:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. via a link that will be posted on the BCMS Facebook and Insagram pages and the BCMS website. A paper copy will be available in the front office if needed.


BCMS Drop Off and Pick Up
BCMS students should be dropped off from 6:45 AM until 7:45 AM at the back of the building by using the new road. If a student is arriving after 7:45 AM, please bring them to the front office entrance to receive a tardy slip as they enter the building.
If you will be picking your student up in the afternoon after 3:10PM, please use the front pick up circle.


Any 2025-26 6th, 7th, and 8th grade boys interested in playing golf for the BCMS Boys Golf Team, please contact Coach Dyer at Billy.Dyer@barren.kyschools.us or 270-407-9911. Everyone is welcome regardless of skill.

The BCMS Youth Service Center Advisory Council will meet at noon on May 8th in the BCMS YSC.


Beginning Thursday, May 1st students being dropped off at the middle school in the morning and/or picked up in the afternoon should enter the new road via Trojan Trail. At the stop sign, turn left and proceed to the gym entrance to where students can be dropped off at the door side. To exit, leave the back parking lot by going up the ramp to the new road and rejoin Trojan Trail at the end of the new road.



Tryouts for BCMS cheerleader for the 2025-26 school year will be on May 13th and 14th at Extreme Gym B. There will be a parent meeting on May 13th at 5:00. Students wishing to try out may fill out a Google Form at the web address below.

The Meet the Coaches event for BCMS 2025-26 Boys Basketball will be tomorrow, April 29th at 4:30 p.m. in the BCMS gym.

On Fridays, Ms Maynard's students have been delivering tasty drinks they created from their BCMS Cafe throughout this school year. Teachers and staff have enjoyed having a coffee shop right here at BCMS.

The Kentucky Department of Agriculture has announced the 2025 State Agriculture Poster contest winners, and BCMS had two pieces selected! Eighth grader Amber Willequer is the overall state level winner for the digital art category and Ann Katherine Wright won in the eighth grade division.
This year’s theme was "Kentucky Agriculture Makes Me Proud," Commissioner Jonathan Shell invited students across the commonwealth to create and submit original works of art to show the importance of agriculture to the Commonwealth’s way of life and our future. They will be honored at an awards ceremony later this year.
